21 January (KNO) : Senior Hurriyat leader and Chairman Islamic Political Party JK Mohammad Yousuf Naqash while paying tributes to the 52 civilians brutally massacred by the occupation forces on 21 January in 1990 at Gaw Kadal srinagar when these forces indiscriminately fired upon the peace ful procession leaving 52 dead and hundreds injured. Actually Kashmir has been suffering death and destruction while resisting Dogra and Indian occupation since 1931.The genuine resistance of Kashmiri people for their inalienable Right to Self Determination is being repulsed through military might and oppressive tactics leaving more than half million dead since 1931.This naked dance of death and destruction continues unabated to crush and curb the Sentiment of Freedom and the ongoing movement aimed for its realization. Our best tribute to these martyrs is in contributing to the ongoing movement for taking it to the logical conclusion. Naqash while seeking the whereabouts of an innocent civilian Siraj u din Farooqi who was arrested by Indian forces on the the fateful day of 22 January 1992 and subjected to custodial disappearance and whereabouts are not known about this innocent civilian till date. He was not involved in any case but his only sin was that he was the brother in-law of Prominent chief commander of Al Umar Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar. Since the date of his arrest and subsequent enforced disappearance his family is wandering from pillar to post to seek his whereabouts with no positive results coming in. This case of enforced disappearance should not be seen in isolation .More than 10,000 Kashmiris regardless of age have been subjected to enforced disappearance since 1989 and their kiths and kins are suffering mental trauma as their whereabouts are not known to them till date. Their pain and agony is increasing with every passing day. Mushtaq Zargars is continuously suffering the oppression and it is evident from the continuous detention of young Adil Zargar along with 22 others suffering the incarceration and their future is being destroyed through this prolonged incarceration. Naqash strongly condemned the hose arrest of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai,Javaid Ahmad Mir and arrest and detention of Mohammad Yasin Malik, Bilal Sidiqi, Hilal Ahmad War, Mohammad Ashraf Laya, Ghulam Mohammad Gulzar, Bashir Kashmiri and many others to thwart the proposed protest rally at Gaw Kadal today.(KNO)
